I had tried lot of veg. South Indian delicacies But didn't get to try the non-veg. side of South India.So,decided to visit this place 'Hotel Sunny' after numerous recommendations from well-informed Malyalis. They apparently do know their stuff for I absolutely loved the place!
The walls were freshly painted, the benches and chairs adequately comfortable (there is an A/c Family section as well) and the place is pretty clean. The service is quick and efficient, dishes were served within 20 minutes of ordering.
They give you their special papad just to munch before the food is served and those papads are just so yummy!We had a fish molly (because Molly is my Nickname :p) which was superb. The fish was fresh (wish there were more than 3 pieces though), the gravy was delicately spiced and combined with the flaky parottas, the result was heavenly.
Also tried the chicken biryani which was alright and some chinese prawn crispy which was a bit of a letdown in the sense that you should come here for the mallu food alone. Also plan to try the iddiappams and the appams some time in the near future.The restaurant is not that big but the food,ambiance and the service made me very very happy...!!! :)
